1. What were the reasons behind DISNEY’S decision to open a theme park in Paris? There were several strong reasons behind Disney’s decisions to open a theme park in Paris which are It’s a major tourist destination It was centrally located with excellent transportation links all over the Europe. Apart from this, the French Govt. agreed to provide cheap land to extend the Paris railway to the park and to lend Disney 22%of the funds.

2. What were the reasons behind the losses that were suffered by Euro Disneyland? French people were very much conscious about their culture and language.The Disney’s no-alcohol policy which it had followed in the earlier parks was not acceptable by the French people. Secondly, the long grey winter of northern France created complex design problems. The breakfast facilities were not adequate with compared to seat capacity. The reasons were:

The Disneyland in Hong Kong was formed as the joint venture between Hong Kong SAR (Special Administrative Region) government and Walt Disney firm for the development of their tourism and Travel department. The construction of Disney Land Park began on Jan 2003 in Hong Kong and it was completed after two years. Hong Kong Disneyland was the first theme park in China. It was also the first Disney theme park that's modeled so closely to the first Disneyland in California. Disneyland received a warm welcome in Hong Kong, by the large crowds and guests during the inaugural ceremony held on 12 th september 2005.

Both the cities are situated on the coast. Both cities have large population and lot of immigrants. Local transport also in both cities is very similar. Both Mumbai and Shanghai are becoming the head quarters of big multinational companies. Like in Mumbai, the person who is brought up in Mumbai for several years likes to be called as ‘Mumbaikar’, in Shanghai also, people like themselves to be called as Shanghainese than Chinese.

DIFFERENCES Temperature. Attitude and an open minded thinking process of the people. Infrastructure. Local transport. The response time of government.

The picture is very clear. China ’ s east zone is getting more and more saturated and therefore the cost of workers, cost of properties and so the overall living cost is increasing day by day. In terms of Government ’ s response time in any development for people ’ s benefit, China is way ahead of India. Nothing comes in between the development of the nation when its done in China. We definitely lack in this system. Apart from these differences, we don ’ t see major differences between India and China. Rather what we feel is, if we improve upon our infrastructural development and if our government can be quicker in taking decisions and implementing them, we can definitely over take China in economic growth.
