Hampshire Color(s): Black in color with a white belt at the shoulders (includes feet) Droop/Erect Ears: Erect Ears Origin: in Southern Scotland and in Northern England. Known as the “Old English Breed.” Traits: Popular meat type animal, boars are often used as terminal sires.

Landrace Color(s): Solid white in color Droop/Erect Ears: Long ears that droop over eyes Origin: Imported to the U.S. in 1934, originated in Denmark. Traits: Extra-long body due to an extra vertebrae. Known for being extremely prolific and having excellent mothering ability.

Poland China Color(s): Black in color with 6 white points. Droop/Erect Ears: Ears that droop over the eyes Origin: Developed between 1800 and 1850 in Ohio. Traits: Has good length and thick hams, and they produce highly desirable carcasses.
