Indian artifacts collected by Fraser Douglass (1913–2001) were displayed at King Library. Douglass’ lifetime interest in American Indian art began as a Boy Scout, then led him to become an art school teacher and then a professor at the University of Cincinnati teaching Native American art and design. His subject knowledge was considered expert enough to appraise the collections at the Cincinnati Art Museum and Museum of Natural History. Articles in the Douglass collection were used as models by Mr. Ruthven in his research into the appearance, garb, and habits of the Miami Indians.
