Resurrection Lutheran Church Awakening Survey Results Our Vision Our Mission Our Plan Our Pledges Our Commitment Our Future

The Awakening Survey Conducted March 16 th responses Survey committee compiled and Pastor Joel evaluated results Report received April 28 th Full report available at:

The Awakening Survey Here are the general results of the survey… As well as planned actions for our future…

The Awakening Survey Many satisfactions expressed… –Folks feel welcome here –Growing congregation –Friendly and Progressive –Confidence in leadership –Youth and Family programs –Music Programs –Good location

The Awakening Survey Areas for improvement… –Future Vision not clearly communicated or shared throughout the congregation –Many not aware of our Mission –Need to do more to help our community –Need to do more to help our members

The Awakening Survey Most common concerns: –Finances –Growth –Facilities –Location –Space –Planning

The Awakening Survey Recommendations (4 of them)… 1. Vision and Mission: –Vision for the future needs to be communicated clearly, loudly, effectively and often. –The Mission statement of RLC needs the same.

The Awakening Survey Recommendations (continued) 2. Facilities: –Current facilities being used effectively there is no room for growth. Lack of facilities will impede future mission. –Develop interim and long range solutions for adequate facilities to meet anticipated growth.

The Awakening Survey Recommendations (continued) 3. Stewardship: –RLC needs to do more to help people learn how to be generous with their financial resources and to grow giver’s hearts. –Seek out and recognize people’s time, talent and spiritual gifts. –Assign or hire a volunteer coordinator. –Implement an endowment fund.

The Awakening Survey Recommendations (continued) 4. Relocation: –Because of external factors beyond the congregation’s control relocation is something that will happen. –There is a strong enough sentiment in the congregation for the leaders to aggressively pursue the purchase of new property in order to relocate.

Survey Comments Question #30: What ministries should RLC offer in the future that are not being offered now? More Teaching – 30 % of responses recommended establishing a Lutheran School of some type. More Healing – 32 % of responses recommended more outreach to people in need – especially in our community.

Survey Comments Question #31: What is your primary concern about the future of RLC? Facilities and Growth – 33 % of responses were concerned about having facilities adequate to support our mission and projected growth. Keeping “Small Church Attitude” – 9 % of responses were concerned with losing our family closeness as we grow. Stewardship – 9 % of responses were concerned with finances.

Survey Comments The rest of the comments for each question showed no significant trends. Good comments by all, though, and each one will be reviewed by pastors and council -- and acted on appropriately.
