Preparing Scotland for the era of resource scarcity The Scottish Government’s Zero Waste Plan - essential to the security of Scotland’s economic future and delivering environmental benefits Ensure valuable resources are not lost to the economy Landfill only small amounts of problem materials Recycle at least 70% of all materials by 2025

Regulatory drivers Landfill Tax - £72 per tonne ( ) Duty of Care Regulations: key recyclables to be segregated; food waste segregation; and follow the waste hierarchy. As of 1 st January 2014 all organisations must comply with the Waste (Scotland) Regulations, which make it illegal ot to separate dry recyclables from general waste CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme – larger and public- sector
