Hinduism

What’s it all about? Hinduism is a fascinating religion – one of the oldest in the world. They are a peaceful people who have respect for all living things. They are vegetarians because they believe that all animals have a soul.

Hinduism is an Indian religion. It has 900 million followers.

Hindu gods Hinduism is a religion that has thousands of gods – each god has a specific responsibility. Families can choose which gods to worship. Brahma – creator of the world.

Vishnu – preserver of the universe Shiva – the Destroyer

Ganesha – god of good luck Krishna – god of love and joy

Lakshmi – goddess of wealth Saraswati – goddess of the arts

What do Hindus believe? Hindus believe in REINCARNATION. This means that when we die, our soul comes back again as something else. This is linked to the belief called KARMA: – If we’ve lived a good life, our next life will be better. – If we’ve lived a bad life, our next life will be worse.

Moksha

Your actions affect your future Good actions make you have a better life. – Kind – Brave – Intelligent – Reliable – Generous Bad actions make you have a worse life. – Angry – Liar – Greedy – Thief – Lazy

To explain this, to their children, Hindus used a game: SNAKES AND LADDERS

The game is popular in the UK and countries where English is spoken because India used to be a British colony

Now, it’s your turn to make your own Moksha game (your Snakes and Ladders).
