Rosa’s Timeline February 4 th, 1913 was when Rosa McCauley was born In 1943, Rosa Parks joined the NAACP In 1955 Rosa was arrested b/c she refused to move from her seat when a white man “needed” to sit there. October 24 th, 2005 Rosa Parks died at age 92….. 

General Information Rosa was born in Tuskegee, Alabama. But She was raised in Montgomery. Rosa had been raised as a strong, independent, brave Person. She cared about every single detail. Her Mother and Father names were Leona and James McCauley. Until age 11, Rosa was home schooled. Then, she went to Montgomery Institute for girls.

Rosa’s Accomplishments Rosa founds the Rosa and Raymond institute for self development, which offers guidance to young people. (detnews.com) The Rosa Parks learning center opens at Boston Commons. (detnews.com) President Clinton awards Rosa Parks the congressional Gold medal, the highest honor a civilian can receive The Rosa Parks Museum and library opens in Montgomery, Alabama on the corner where she refused to give up her bus seat in 1955.

Challenges in Life On December 1st Rosa refused to get up from her seat to a white man then she was arrested. As a child Rosa had tonsillitis and was small even for a child. (Her family was kid of poor so That was probably hard to deal with). It was very hard to overcome the white people…such as: the Ku-Klux-Klan, ordinary people and for example the bus driver.

When your discriminating or making fun of someone, think about it….is this the right thing? What would Rosa Parks do? Or maybe one of your heroes, Like Harriet Tubman or anyone. Help make world peace. Think About It

Questions to Answer What personality traits was enabled this person to realize personal goals and dreams? Rosa Parks was very independent but worked very well with other people, She was also a strong leader and brave. Rosa really stood up and lead many people for civil rights.

Questions to Answer What do you admire or dislike about this person? I like the way Rosa figured out problems. She never gave up.

Questions to answer How did this person (Rosa Parks) have a lasting impact? Rosa refused to give up her seat to a white man. She was arrested because she refused to move. Rosa inspired SO many people to follow their dreams and not be afraid to step up.

Questions to Answer What childhood experiences caused Rosa to establish her personal goals and dreams? Well, as a child Rosa was always afraid of the Ku-Klux-Klan coming to her house and killing her and her family. She wanted to overcome the KKK, and show that African Americans aren’t any different from white people.
