What IF???? Focusing on our Mission Statement – Making Lives easier, healthier, happier. Lives = One Customer, One Community One EMPLOYEE at a time. Could we change the lives of our own employees? Could we lower our own healthcare cost?

Things to ask… Is the employer group a self funded insurance plan…??? Is it more costly to bill insurance company directly or pay out of pocket? What types of services will the benefit program cover??? MNT??? Standardized education programs???? What are the costs of these services, don’t give them away!! What is the desired outcome???

Started in 2008….. Incentive structure program…. The more they participate the more they save. What would motivate employees???? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to engage employees in improving their health….

Results ,730 employees completed all requirements 9,413 Personal Health Assessments completed ,633 employees completed all requirements 10,801 Personal Health Assessments completed 11,844 biometric screenings completed at our stores ,558 completed all requirements 12,054 PHAs completed 12,493 biometric screenings completed at stores

2012 Results? 11,256 employees completed all requirements – 80%! Over 18,000 biometric screenings were completed at Hy-Vee stores Over 450 employees completed the Begin program

Results Statistics The following graphs represent the percentage of Begin participants who have eliminated the given risk factor for metabolic syndrome and the percentage of those who have not.
