8 THE CITY OF CALGARY Corporate GOAL/EMS Involvement To provide organizational support to help and encourage employees to seek information and make lifestyle changes to improve and maintain the state of their health overtime. In 2001, HR in partnership with The City of Calgary Emergency Medical Services, the first health clinics were offered. EMS began to test cholesterol for High Density Lipids (HDL) and Total Cholesterol at the clinics in 2002. In 2003, a nutritionist was also on hand to provide nutritional information and body fat analysis. Feedback from the clinics in both 2002 and 2003 showed there was interest in having glucose testing include. This was implemented in 2004.

Blood pressures scores from comprehensive assessment Cholesterol scores from comprehensive assessment Glucose scores from comprehensive assessment Framingham score ≥ 11% (cardiovascular disease risk) assessed online automatically Under Wellness Factors questions: 4 or more questions scored 0-2 from online questionnaire Under Worksite Factors: 50% or more of the questions scored 0-2 from online questionnaire
