Borders and Geography The borders of Rhode Island are Connecticut, Massachusetts and The Atlantic Ocean. The geography (physical features) of Rhode Island are Coastlands, Islands, and Woodlands.

Resources/ Agriculture/ Farming Some natural resources found in Rhode Island are fishing, trees and wild carrots. My state would not be good for farming or agriculture because (from world book) farmland covers less than 10% of Rhode Island and Rhode Island is a really small state. Greenhouse and nursery products are Rhode Islands main source of agriculture.

History and Additional Historical Facts Rhode Island became a state on May 29, One historical fact was Native Americans came to the area of Rhode Island about 10,000 years ago. Historical fact two is Giovanni da Verrazzano sailed into Narragansett Bay in Historical fact three is in 1636, Roger Williams established Rhode Islands first permanent white settlement.

Places to Visit Some great places to visit in Rhode Island are Cliff Walk in Newport, which you can walk a long 3 ½ mile long path along the rocky coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Another place is the Roger Williams Park Zoo. You can go on walks, through waterways, gardens and museums.

Additional Facts Rhode Island state zoo has polar bears, penguins, giraffes, and elephants. The state colors are blue, white, and gold. More than 160,000 people live in Providence. The state flower is the Common Blue Violet. The museum of art at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence has tens of thousands of art pieces. The first free republic in the New World was Rhode Island.
