6 * Borders: Mexico, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana * Geography: Texas is big. It covers 286,601 square miles rivers form Texas’s boundaries. East Texas is home to pine forest, rich oil fields, swamps called bayous, and alligators.

Texas is a good place to farm because Texas has a good amount of soil. Texas also has hundreds of types of soil so in Texas you could grow a lot more plants.

Texas has thousands of lakes that have been made or enlarged by humans effort, or also could be called man made. The Comal river, the shortest river in Texas is only 2 ½ miles long. The first play by play radio broadcast of a football game took place in College Station in November 1919.
