About the Designer Cavan Huang is a design director at Interbrand in New York where he is helping to redefine the way we express brands across different media platforms. Beyond design direction, he is also an editor, animator, web-developer, musician, photographer and storyteller. Huang is also creative principal of his own design practice as well as a visiting professor for Rhode Island School of Design. He holds a BA in History & Urban Planning from McGill University and an MFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design. For more information, visit Huang’s website: This poster is about the changing face of information design. As stated on the poster: information is not flat anymore. It takes didactic terms about layout and transforms the flat vectors into a dense 3-dimensional kinetic intersection. 2- Disguise 14Cavan Huang

This collage is about the future of media content: innovative, addictive, short form and mobile. I developed it as the brand image and packaging for Warner Bros. Studio 2.0. Though rejected, it found an appropriate place in the opening sequence of AIGA'S NEXT Conference.AIGA'S NEXT 2- Disguise 14Cavan Huang Cavan Huang arranges layers of letterforms to disguise the message of the text.

This poster is inspired by the Francis Ford Coppola Film The Conversation. The typography evokes a sense of isolation, paranoia and tension by enclosing the film's protagonist, surveillance expert Harry Caul, in tight spaces. To emphasize the raw and dirty world he operates in, the poster is screen printed on craft paper. This poster was featured in CMYK magazine and exhibited at the design museum at U.C. Davis. 2- Disguise 14 Cavan Huang Cavan Huang arranges layers of letterforms to disguise the message of the text.
