Your class has won an opportunity to create a tour guide book of the United States Regions for the President. He will give these books to all foreign leaders when they visit the White House. There are clues on the following pages that will help you to create your tour guide. Remember the President is counting on you!

The People that make up the Northeast Region Majority of the immigrants that came to the Northeast Region came looking for a job. There were also others looking for the opportunity to practice their own religion freely. William Penn was granted a charter from the King to set up Pennsylvania. Here anyone could practice their own religion freely. We still religious tolerance today in Pennsylvania through the Amish People. Geography Two major geographical features of the Southeast Region is the Mississippi River and the Coastal Plain. The Mississippi River is a major source of transportation for exporting and importing goods into the United States. Economy of the South Agriculture is a major part of how the people in the South make money. Discover below how sugarcane is processed into sugar. Also, learn about textiles and how cotton and other resources are used to make them.

People of the South Important events in American History took place in the South. Many of the Civil War battles occurred in the Southeast.
