The People that make up the Northeast Region Majority of the immigrants that came to the Northeast Region came looking for a job. There were also others looking for the opportunity to practice their own religion freely. William Penn was granted a charter from the King to set up Pennsylvania. Geography Two major geographical features of the Southeast Region is the Mississippi River and the Coastal Plain.
