God’s Good News to all people. The Son of God became man in the womb of a Virgin. Her name was Mary.

The Jewish people had been waiting for the coming of the Messiah, as foretold by the prophets.

One day, the Archangel Gabriel entered the house of a young girl whose name was Mary.

The angel told her: Rejoice, full of grace. The Lord is with you. You are chosen among all women to be the Mother of God.

Don’t be afraid, Mary; God has been gracious to you. You will conceive and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus.

Mary said: Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to your word.
