Maria And Her Flag Maria was on the flag squad that performed at half time during football games. It was the first game that her grandparents and uncle Luigi attended. Maria waved her flag while looking for her family in the large crowd. Just as she spotted her grandmother, her greatest fear came true. She lost her grip on the flag, and it started to fall. Even though she caught it quickly, Maria’s face became red. She felt as if she had made a horrible mistake and everyone was staring at her. The Big Game It was the last seconds of the championship volley ball game. The score was tied. The captain of the other team served the ball really hard. The ball barely cleared the net. Sam jumped high and spiked the ball over the net. Two of the opposing players dove for the ball. One of them hit it, but the ball hit the net. Sam’s team won!

A Day To Forget The circus is in town. Everyone loves to watch the lion tamers. They are so brave! I was watching from the first row when all of a sudden one of the lions started to growl at the tamer. I guess he was tired of the whip snapping in his face. The lion started to go towards the tamer and would not stop. The crowd screamed. The tamer turned and started to run for the cage door.
