Our Neighbourhood Plan

WHAT IS A NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN? Product of Decentralisation and Localism Bill Allows a community to define where it feels new shops, houses and businesses should go If approved by a referendum, adopted by local authority planners Purpose is not to stop development, but to ensure local opinions are actively considered It will build on the foundations of the Parish Plan

THE PROCESS 1Today - announce Parish Council's decision 2Recruit volunteers to help with various tasks 3Distribute leaflets seeking views and proposals 4Hold open days to canvass local opinions 5Distribute survey to get feedback on ideas gathered 6Collect background data 7Produce first draft, hold public meeting, consult 8Submit to Cheshire West and Chester Council 9Local referendum 10Adopted by local planning authority

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED A wide range of skills and experience needed More people = a better plan, more quickly Not - do you want Ashton Hayes to develop? But - how do you want Ashton Hayes to develop?
