The message of 1Corinthians for today
Presentation transcript:

 1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

 Test Friday over Lessons 6-8  Memorize Joshua 1:9 p. 54 for today – 29 pts  Major Project Due February 6 – Don’t Forget

 Analyze God’s redemption of Rahab and her inclusion in the lineage of Jesus  Justify God’s call for Israel to utterly destroy the inhabitants of Canaan centuries after He instructed Abraham not to destroy them  Examine the fatal consequences of Achan’s sin as God brought Israel into the Promised Land  Compare the practice of casting lots to the way choices are made by Christians today  Analyze the importance of total commitment to Christ in light of Joshua’s declaration, “Choose this day whom you will serve”  Discern why the book of Judges emphasizes Israel’s cycles of disobedience, defeat, and deliverance  Examine why Israel set aside God’s laws in favor of doing what was right in their own eyes  Determine the factors that led to Israel’s incomplete conquest of Canaan and its consequences  Explain how Israel’s judges as deliverers were meant to prefigure Christ  Explore examples in the book of Judges illustrating that evil results when everyone does what is right in his own eyes  Examine why Canaanite worship was so alluring to Israel and so repulsive to God.
