Negative Tú Commands
Negative Tú Commands To form negative tú commands with regular verbs, we drop the o of the present-tense yo form and add the following endings:
Negative Tú Commands HABLAR es habl hablo No hables ahora
Negative Tú Commands COMER as com como No comas tacos.
Negative Tú Commands ABRIR as abr abro No abras esa puerta.
Negative Tú Commands Notice that -ar verbs take the ending -es and that –er/-ir verbs take the ending -as. In stem-changing verbs the stem change remains.
Negative Tú Commands No vengas a clase tarde. No digas eso. No tengas miedo.
Negative Tú Commands Verbs ending in -car, -gar, and -zar have the following spelling changes in negative tú commands in order to maintain the original sound.
Negative Tú Commands -car (c…qu) SACAR saco saqu es No saques la tarea.
Negative Tú Commands -gar (g…gu) LLEGAR llego llegu es No llegues tarde.
Negative Tú Commands -zar (z…c) ALMORZAR almuerzo almuerc es No almuerces tarde.

Affirmative Tú Commands with pronouns Remember that pronouns are attached to affirmative commands.
Affirmative Tú Commands If the pronoun is added to a command form that has two or more syllables, write an accent mark on the syllable stressed (3rd one) in the present tense.
Affirmative “Tú” commands Borra las respuestas= bórralas Prende el radio= préndelo Imprime los documentos= imprímelos Revisa la tarea= revísala
Negative Tú Commands with pronouns With negative commands, pronouns always go right before the verb.
Negative Tú Commands ¿Lleno el tanque de gasolina? No, lo llenes de gasolina.
Negative Tú Commands ¿Prendo la televisión? No, no la prendas. ¿Apago las computadoras? No, las apagues
Reflexive affirmative “Tú” commands In affirmative commands, reflexives are always attached to the end of the verb. Note: an accent mark is necessary on the 3rd syllable of the verb, counting backwards, when a reflexive pronoun is attached to the end.
Reflexive affirmative “Tú” commands Levantarse= se changes to te= Levántate Bajarse= se changes to te= bájate Subirse= se changes to te=súbete Bañarse= se changes to te=báñate
Reflexive negative “Tú” commands In negative commands, the reflexive goes before the verb. Note: an accent mark is NOT necessary.
