What is a good Consumer? Good Consumers...  Are Aware of their Legal Rights  Are Aware of Organisations that can help  Try to Purchase goods which are good quality and good value for maney  Are Aware of price variences between retailers  Keep receipts and guarantees in a safe place  Do not fall victim to false ecomonies. P L O V E R

Choosing A brand When choosing between the different brands the Good Consumers will look carefully at...  Price of each product  Quality of each product  Features included with each product  Ingredients and additives if its food (organic or free range)  Guarantee Exists / how long  Special Offers

Unit Pricing Work out the unit price of each of the examples below 2KG of sugar for €2 = €1 per KG 150g of beans for 30c = 5c per gram ten pack of toilet roll (100 sheets per roll) €10 = €1 per roll or 1c per sheet a 6pack of mineral water (500ml per bottle) €3 = €1 per litre or 1c per 10ml

Conclusion good consumers are aware of legal rights and helpful organisation's look at value for money & prices between retailer s. keep receipts/ guarantees in a safe place and Avoid false economy When choosing a brand compare price quality features ingredients Be aware of guarantees / special offers Penny Wise - Pound Foolish
