 Trade- Nobleman, Spanish Conquistador and Explorer  Nationality- Spanish  Born: July 21,1510  Died: September 22,1554  Education: His family gave him a good education but they were not famous or rich.

 To become rich and famous with gold  The governor of Mexico or viceroy of Mexico financed the expedition Name of governor- Antonio De Mendoza

 He Traveled from 1540 too In the southern parts of the united states. including Texas Oklahoma and Kansas.

 The result of Francisco Vasquez de Coronado was that he killed many native Americans.  He also found certain land marks of the southern united states, these include the painted dessert and the plains of Oklahoma and Kansas.

 The Importance of finding his discoveries is that he found out for Spain that the seven cities of gold did not exist.  Also if he had not found the Grand Canyon it would not be a major tourist attraction.

 Francisco Vasquez de Coronado faced multiple obstacles. These included the terrain (deserts) and extremely hostile native Americans.

 He disrespected them by beating and sometimes killing Native Americans.

1510 he is born four men emerge from despolado and claim to be the survivors of the ill fated expedition of panfilo is convinced they have the knowledge of the seven cities of gold Coronado become governor of new Galicia Mexico Mendoza selects Coronado to lead an expedition in search of the seven cites of gold he leaves in February and quickly finds haiku the first city but finds its only and Indian pueblo other also fail to find gold but Coronado lieutenant find the grand canyon the Colorado river and the painted desert herds of buffalo and other natural wonders of America Coronado travel threw the Texas panhandle as well as the plains of Oklahoma and Kansas Coronado returns to new Spain penniless and with no gold to show off for his 6000 mile journey Coronado is tried and found not guilty on charges of mistreating Indians he dies in Mexico city on September 22.
