Agenda 2/9/15, 2/10/15 1)Sketch/write #9: Art classes 2)Sketch/write #10: Out of Bounds/What Lies Beneath 3) Complete 1 “Out of Bounds” artwork using a tutorial or 1 “Surreal Effects” Tutorial – Due Today Flatten and save as a jpeg. Make a separate file and place your reference/source photos on it. Flatten & save as.jpeg. 4) Turn in your tutorial and source file: Call it yourlastname-ST.jpeg and yourlastname-sorce.jpeg 5) Continue your Surreal World Project Option: Learn a new “surreal effect” technique with a tutorial take your own photos to incorporate Use a minimum of 2 Surreal Techniques

Sketch/write #9: Review the TPHS Visual Arts Home website and various art classes. 1)Which classes look interesting to you and would be a class you would want to take next year? 2)Explain what looks interesting. What could you learn specifically?

Sketch/write #10: Review the PowerPoint entitled “Out of Bounds/What Lies Beneath.” 1)Choose 1 artwork you like the best. Describe it or draw a small sketch of it. 2)Explain why this artwork appeals to you. Why do like it? 3)Explain what makes this artwork Surreal. How is it a realistic world with dream-like elements? What looks realistic and believable? What elements are illogical? 4)What “Surreal Techniques” are employed in this artwork? Explain.

“Out of Bounds” or Photoshop “Surreal Effects” Tutorial: You will complete 1 unique tutorial on your own. Review the Photoshop Tutorials links and choose “Out of Bounds” or a “Surreal Effects” tutorial that interests you. The tutorial you complete must teach you something new and complex, resulting in an “Out of Bounds” artwork or a “Surreal Effect” artwork. The tutorial and artwork should take you at least 60 minutes to complete. It should take more - if not, it may not be complex. Choose a different tutorial. You must use different photos than the tutorial. Learn the skills, but make the artwork your own! For example: if the tutorial makes a frog out of raspberries, than you make a lizard out of eggs, or a squirrel out of grapes.
