The Portrait 2And it will rest (NAVACH) upon him, the Spirit (RUACH) of YHWH: RUACH of Wisdom (CHOKMAH) and Discernment (BIYNAH) RUACH of Strategy/Counsel (ETSAH) and Might (GEBURAH) RUACH of Knowledge (DAAT) and the Fear (YIRAT) of YHWH 3And as a result his delight will be in the fear of the YHWH And not according to the seeing of His eyes will He judge And not according to the hearing of His ears will He rebuke/decide 4But He will judge in Righteousness the poor And He will rebuke/decide in Fairness for the afflicted of the Land. And He will strike the Land with a rod (SHEVET) of His mouth And with the breath (RUACH) of His lips He will slay the wicked. 5And Righteousness will be the garment about His loins; And Faithfulness the garment about His waist.

The Curse Removed

Is 11:6 Isaiah 11:6 6 וְגָ ֤ ר זְאֵב ֙ עִם־כֶּ ֔ בֶשׂ וְנָמֵ ֖ ר עִם־גְּדִ ֣ י יִרְבָּ ֑ ץ וְעֵ ֨ גֶל וּכְפִ ֤ יר וּמְרִיא ֙ יַחְדָּ ֔ ו וְנַ ֥ עַר קָטֹ ֖ ן נֹהֵ ֥ ג בָּֽם׃ And (as a result) It will sojourn (GAVAR), the wolf with the lamb And the leopard with the kid will lie down (RABATS) And the young bull and the young lion and the fatted steer together And the small boy will lead/drive (NAHAG) them

Evidence of God’s Eternal Plan for Mankind in Is 11:6 Genesis 1:26 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Romans 8: For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

Is 11:7 Isaiah 11:7 7 וּפָרָ ֤ ה וָדֹב ֙ תִּרְעֶ ֔ ינָה יַחְדָּ ֖ ו יִרְבְּצ ֣ וּ יַלְדֵיהֶ ֑ ן וְאַרְיֵ ֖ ה כַּבָּקָ ֥ ר יֹֽאכַל־תֶּֽבֶן׃ And the cow and the bear will graze (RA’AH) Together they will lie down, their young (YELED—born ones) And the lion like the ox will eat straw!

Review: The Portrait of vv1-5

Extent of the Restoration Food is no longer a matter of sacrifice of life in the animal world. The Peace of the Kingdom of Heaven means no competition of survival for sustenance. The animals’ digestive anatomy will adjust to a vegetarian diet! Both animal instinct and physiology will change dramatically

Is 11:8 Isaiah 11:8 8 וְשִֽׁעֲשַׁ ֥ ע יוֹנֵ ֖ ק עַל־חֻ ֣ ר פָּ ֑ תֶן וְעַל ֙ מְאוּרַ ֣ ת צִפְעוֹנִ ֔ י גָּמ ֖ וּל יָדֹ ֥ ו הָדָֽה׃ And he will play (SHA’A’), a sucker(YANAQ), at the hole of the cobra And at the hole of the poisonous snake the weaned child his hand will put out

Is 11:9 Isaiah 11:9 9 לֹֽא־יָרֵ ֥ עוּ וְלֹֽא־יַשְׁחִ ֖ יתוּ בְּכָל־הַ ֣ ר קָדְשִׁ ֑ י כִּֽי־מָלְאָ ֣ ה הָאָ ֗ רֶץ דֵּעָה ֙ אֶת־יְהוָ ֔ ה כַּמַּ ֖ יִם לַיָּ ֥ ם מְכַסִּֽים׃ פ They will not hurt and they will not destroy in all My Holy Mountain For it will be full, the earth, with the knowledge of YHWH like the waters cover the sea.

The Political Aspect of the Kingdom

A Refuge Isaiah 11:10 10 וְהָיָה ֙ בַּיּ ֣ וֹם הַה ֔ וּא שֹׁ ֣ רֶשׁ יִשַׁ ֗ י אֲשֶׁ ֤ ר עֹמֵד ֙ לְנֵ ֣ ס עַמִּ ֔ ים אֵלָ ֖ יו גּוֹיִ ֣ ם יִדְרֹ ֑ שׁוּ וְהָיְתָ ֥ ה מְנֻחָתוֹ ֖ כָּבֽוֹד׃ פ 10And then in that Day, the Root of Jesse, which will stand for a guide-on to the peoples, To Him the nations will seek for guidance (DARASH), And His resting place will be glorious!

Redemption of the Remnant Isaiah 11:11 11 וְהָיָ ֣ ה׀ בַּיּ ֣ וֹם הַה ֗ וּא יוֹסִ ֨ יף אֲדֹנָ ֤ י׀ שֵׁנִית ֙ יָדֹ ֔ ו לִקְנ ֖ וֹת אֶת־שְׁאָ ֣ ר עַמֹּ ֑ ו אֲשֶׁ ֣ ר יִשָּׁאֵר ֩ מֵאַשּׁ ֨ וּר וּמִמִּצְרַ ֜ יִם וּמִפַּתְר ֣ וֹס וּמִכּ ֗ וּשׁ וּמֵעֵילָ ֤ ם וּמִשִּׁנְעָר ֙ וּמֵ ֣ חֲמָ ֔ ת וּמֵאִיֵּ ֖ י הַיָּֽם׃ 11 Then it will be in that Day the Master (ADONAI) will add His hand a second time to aquire/purchase (QANAH) the Remnant of His People, Who remain in Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Kush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

The Collection of the Remnant Isaiah 11:12 12 וְנָשָׂ ֥ א נֵס ֙ לַגּוֹיִ ֔ ם וְאָסַ ֖ ף נִדְחֵ ֣ י יִשְׂרָאֵ ֑ ל וּנְפֻצ ֤ וֹת יְהוּדָה ֙ יְקַבֵּ ֔ ץ מֵאַרְבַּ ֖ ע כַּנְפ ֥ וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃ And He will lift up a guide-on to the Gentiles And He will add the scatterred ones of Israel, And the smashed ones of Judah He will gather from the four wings of the earth

The Reconnection of the Remnant Isaiah 11:13 13 וְסָ ֨ רָה ֙ קִנְאַ ֣ ת אֶפְרַ ֔ יִם וְצֹרְרֵ ֥ י יְהוּדָ ֖ ה יִכָּרֵ ֑ תוּ אֶפְרַ ֨ יִם ֙ לֹֽא־יְקַנֵּ ֣ א אֶת־יְהוּדָ ֔ ה וִֽיהוּדָ ֖ ה לֹֽא־יָצֹ ֥ ר אֶת־אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ And it will turn aside, the jealousy of Ephraim And those who press-in on Judah will be cut off. Ephraim will not envy Judah and Judah will not press in on Ephraim

The Conquest by the Remnant Isaiah 11:14 14 וְעָפ ֨ וּ בְכָתֵ ֤ ף פְּלִשְׁתִּים ֙ יָ ֔ מָּה יַחְדָּ ֖ ו יָבֹ ֣ זּוּ אֶת־בְּנֵי־קֶ ֑ דֶם אֱד ֤ וֹם וּמוֹאָב ֙ מִשְׁל ֣ וֹח יָדָ ֔ ם וּבְנֵ ֥ י עַמּ ֖ וֹן מִשְׁמַעְתָּֽם׃ And they will swoop down on the slopes of the Philistines toward the sea Together they will plunder the sons of the east, Edom and Moab will be in the stretching out of their hand And the sons of Ammon will be their subjects.

The Covenant Land Given 15 וְהֶחֱרִ ֣ ים יְהוָ ֗ ה אֵ ֚ ת לְשׁ ֣ וֹן יָם־מִצְרַ ֔ יִם וְהֵנִ ֥ יף יָדֹ ֛ ו עַל־הַנָּהָ ֖ ר בַּעְיָ ֣ ם רוּחֹ ֑ ו וְהִכָּ ֨ הוּ ֙ לְשִׁבְעָ ֣ ה נְחָלִ ֔ ים וְהִדְרִ ֖ יךְ בַּנְּעָלִֽים׃ And he will put under the ban (CHEREM), YHWH, the tongue of the sea of Egypt And it will wave back and forth, His hand, upon the River with His firey breath; And He will strike it into seven streams, And He will cause them to walk in sandals

The Certainty of the Return 16 וְהָיְתָ ֣ ה מְסִלָּ ֔ ה לִשְׁאָ ֣ ר עַמֹּ ֔ ו אֲשֶׁ ֥ ר יִשָּׁאֵ ֖ ר מֵֽאַשּׁ ֑ וּר כַּאֲשֶׁ ֤ ר הָֽיְתָה ֙ לְיִשְׂרָאֵ ֔ ל בְּי ֥ וֹם עֲלֹתוֹ ֖ מֵאֶ ֥ רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ And there will be a highway for the Remnant of His People which remain from Assyria, Just as there was in Israel in the day they came from the land of Egypt
