Liturgy of the WORD 1. First Reading Different readings are prescribed for each day. At the end of the reading, the people respond “Thanks be to God” 2. Liturgy of the Eucharist (cont) Communion Rite- We prepare to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ Lord’s Prayer- We pray the Our Father (Our Father, who art in heaven...) Sign of Peace- we offer one another Christ’s peace (usually by shaking hands and saying “Peace be with you”) Breaking of the Bread and the Lamb of God- We pray for forgiveness, mercy, and peace.

Liturgy of the Eucharist (cont) Communion Rite- We prepare to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ Communion- We receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. When receiving communion as the Eucharist minister offers you the “Body of Christ” you reply “Amen.” Prayer After Communion- We pray that the Eucharist will strengthen us to live as Jesus Christ did. (This is done by kneeling/sitting in silence, until the Priest begins speaking again)

Concluding Rite Blessing - We receive God’s blessing from the priest Dismissal - We go in peace to love and serve the Lord and one another.
