What’s happened so far Created policy files for UnicornCreated policy files for Unicorn –approached this task as a migration of existing policies –asked all NEOS circulation units to submit current DRA classes, qualifiers, loan periods, fine rates, renewal limits and reserve policies –consolidated and harmonized submitted documents to produce a consistent and shared set of policies

What’s happened so far –submitted circulation policy sheets to Steering Team at the end of June Assembled patron file informationAssembled patron file information –verified the fields from the patron record to be migrated into Workflows –submitted patron migration specifications to Steering Team at the end of August

What happens next Testing phaseTesting phase –database will be available for testing in early November –team will test basic circulation functions such as creating patron records, charging, discharging, renewing, and bills to ensure that policies have migrated correctly –corrections will be submitted in time for a second testing phase in January 2003

What happens next Training phase - ProposedTraining phase - Proposed –pilot training session will be offered in mid- December –this will allow us to fine-tune the script and test for length and content –participants in this session will be asked to act as assistants at subsequent training sessions

What happens next Training phase – Proposed (cont’d.)Training phase – Proposed (cont’d.) –circulation and reserve training sessions will be approximately days in length –to be offered January 20 - March 7, 2003 –one session to be offered in Red Deer and another in Grande Prairie –circulation supervisors have been asked to submit names of staff who require circulation and reserve training –on-line registration for these sessions will be available in a few weeks
