Final Jeopardy Answer 1. What is: Frozen water, liquid water, and water vapor are the same in that each is a substance made of water molecules. These substances differ in that they are different states of matter. Frozen water, or ice, has a fixed volume and shape. The atoms in ice are close together but are able to vibrate in place. Liquid water has a fixed volume but not a fixed shape. The atoms in liquid water are close together like those in ice, but the atoms in liquid water can slide over one another. Water vapor is a gas that has no fixed volume or shape. The molecules that make up water vapor are not close together and can move easily in all directions?
