BRODARSKI INSTITUTE LLC Millennium Diamond 599 passengers catamaran – operating for City Cruises, London The Brodarski Institute designed, tested and built a 37m long steel catamaran whose innovations include novel asymmetric hulls which reduce resistance and wash and thus the power and fuel required, and automatic regulation of the ballast tanks. Powered by energy-efficient diesel engines adjusted to the low sulphur level of biodiesel fuel, the boat also has solar panels which continuously recharge its batteries, on-board recycling facilities and software to optimise noise abatement.
