Progress Monitor and Recovery We made some difficult but necessary decisions to create an appropriate learning culture for Sanderson recovery plan required of all teachers monitored 9th grade watch list monitored At Risk watch list 9 th – 12th Club Sparta - 9 th graders Why Try - At Risk students IMAGE club - black males WISE - at risk girls SuccessMaker implementation of FLEX period wider and more intentional use of GradPoint (1600 implementations 1 st semester) administrative talks with grade levels At Risk students Focus on Seniors - share photos with staff; meet with Principal continued monitoring of recovery implementation by checking grades at interim and end of quarter continued focus on doing what is best for kids at all staff gatherings. Changes from September to October The number of students included on the F list decreased by 164. The number of courses failed decreased by 199. The number of students failing 1 course decreased by 131. The number of students failing 2 courses decreased by 23. The number of students failing 3 course decreased by 19.

Changes for October 2013 to October 2014 The number of students included on the F list decreased by 153. The number of courses failed decreased by 188. The number of students failing 1 course decreased by 115. The number of students failing 2 courses decreased by 35. The number of students failing 3 course decreased by 10.

Next Steps/ How do we Respond? We all need to learn how to provide effective targeted interventions at the Tier I level I don’t believe we are truly providing interventions but rather recovery/grading strategies With the new WCPSS Strategic Plan interventions must be systemic for all of us to be successful
