If … We can use if-sentences to talk about future plans in different situations. If it’s wet, we‘ll watch a film. This happens first. Then we will do this.

present tense in the if-clause. future tense in the main clause. An if-sentence is made up of an if-clause and a main clause. if-clause main clause If it‘s wet, we‘ll watch a film. Use the present tense in the if-clause. Use the future tense in the main clause.

If … If it‘s wet, we‘ll watch a film. We‘ll watch a film if it‘s wet. Use a comma when the if-clause is at the beginning. If it‘s wet, we‘ll watch a film. There is no need to use a comma when the if-clause is at the end. We‘ll watch a film if it‘s wet. no comma
