(Introduction) I am Mrs. Hook. I am a fourth grade teacher at Brandywine Heights Intermediate School. I have been working in the Brandywine school district for nine years now. I live in Mertztown with my family and cat, Lily. I didn’t always live in the area though. I am from Bethlehem, PA, and I also lived in Allentown and Whitehall before moving to Mertztown. I went to Freedom High School, and as you know, I went to school with “The Rock”. I also met the guys from Def Leppard. Pretty cool, huh?

(Family and Special People) My friends are also very special to me. It is important to have good friends in your life. I have many special people in my life. Of course, my husband and my two kids, Jessi and Joey, are the most important to me. I also have a very big family. We are very close. We like to get together as often as we can. Our family celebrations are fun! Some of my friends are also my co-workers. I think you’ll recognize some of these people…

(Places) Another place we like to go is Mauch Chunk Lake in Jim Thorpe. It’s beautiful there. You can swim, hike, fish, and picnic! I like to go places and have fun! In the summer, we always go to the shore. Ocean City, MD is my beach! I love the boardwalk. My kids and I also like to go to Dorney Park; although they like to go with their friends more than with their mom now.  We love the Haunt.

As the song says, “These are a few of my favorite things…” (Favorites) As the song says, “These are a few of my favorite things…” My favorite movie character is Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I love Jack! I love Middle Eastern food. It is so good! Some of my favorites include falafel, kibee, and dolamades. Mmmm. My favorite actor is Johnny Depp. I love every movie I’ve seen him in, even the ones where he is animated. He’s a cool dad too. My favorite musical group is Journey. They have amazing songs. My favorite singers would have to be Rod Stewart, Elton John, and Melissa Etheridge. I love all kinds of music! My favorite color changes from day to day…usually it is green.

(Hobbies, Sports, and Activities) There are a lot of things that I like to do in my spare time. I also like to crochet. I used to draw; but as I got older, arthritis started to bother my right hand. Crocheting is good for that, so it’s a creative outlet for me. When I was younger, I loved to go roller skating. I can still skate circles around Jessi and Joey, and their friends. I used to be really good! Now, I like to go out to dinner with friends. It’s so relaxing to get together and relax. I don’t play any sports…but I’m watching them a lot. Joey plays soccer and baseball. I guess one of my hobbies is being a spectator. Last, but certainly not least, I love to shop! I’m up for a trip to the mall any day of the week!
