 A Bully: a person who uses strength or power to harm or intimidate those who are weaker  To Bully: to use superior strength or influence to intimidate [someone], typically to force him/her to do what one wants  Other terms:  Systematically … inflicting physical hurt or psychological distress  Pattern of unwanted/repeated written, verbal, or physical behavior  …severe enough to create an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment… Cinnamon J.  Depression/Anxiety  Increased feelings of sadness and loneliness  Changes in sleep and eating patterns  Loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy  Health complaints  Decreased academic achievement  More likely to miss, skip, or drop out of school Cinnamon J.  Perceived as being “different”  Overweight or underweight, wearing glasses, different clothing, being new, not “cool”  Perceived as weak or unable to defend themselves  i.e., Karate Kid  Depressed, anxious, or has low self-esteem  Less popular, has few friends  Doesn’t get along well with others, seen as annoying or provoking Cinnamon J.
