It is God’s will that you should be sanctified... For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. 1 Thessalonians 4:3,7

Be Holy? NOT subtraction or division NOT subtraction or division but addition and multiplication For this very reason, add to your faith goodness; faith goodness; And to goodness, knowledge; And to knowledge, self-control, And to self-control, perseverance; And to perseverance, godliness; And to godliness, brotherly kindness; And to brotherly kindness, love. 2 Peter 1:5-7

Be Holy? NOT acquiring extra resources from outside NOT acquiring extra resources from outside but using the resources God has already given us His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 2:3

Be Holy? NOT fulfilling the duties of a set of rules NOT fulfilling the duties of a set of rules but the result of a relationship with Christ If you love me, you will obey what I command... If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. John 14:15,23

Be Holy?

That is why the real problem of the Christian life comes where people do not usually look. It comes the very moment you wake up each morning. All your wishes and hopes for the day rush by like wild animals. And the first job each morning is shoving them all back; then listen to that Other voice, taking that Other point of view, allowing that Other larger, stronger, quieter life to come flowing in... Be Holy?

We can only do it for moments at a first. But from those moments the new sort of life will be spreading through our system: because now we are letting Him work at the right part of us. It is the difference between paint, which is merely laid on the surface and a dye or stain, which soaks right through. We are told to be perfect and Christ meant it. He meant that we must go for the full treatment. The 'new self.'

It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird, it would be harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, natural, egg. We must be hatched or go bad. C. S. Lewis Mere Christianity

Be holy, because I am holy.
