Russian PKF Staff Officers Course

Russian PKF Course  Provides necessary one-month pre-deployment training for the Russian officers selected for staff positions in the Peace-keeping (Support) Forces.  Courses number is as required by situation.  Total training hours  The programme includes  The UN historical background, structure, terms and definitions, UN mandated regional arrangements  Legitimacy, code of conduct, use of force, Rules Of Engagement, behaviour in respect of local traditions

Russian PKF Course  PKF composition, Staff Officers Duties  Liaison with different components in a multi- dimensional mission, CIMIC, low-level (off-road) negotiation  PKF Operational Techniques – CP duties, patrolling, convoys escorts, interposing, CIVPOL assistance  Safety and security – mines awareness, stress management in hostile environment

Russian United Nations Military Observer Course

 In 1996 the RUSUNMOC became international and since then more than 100 foreign officers from Canada, Denmark, Germany, Nigeria, Norway, Sweden, the UK, the USA underwent training in the Centre.  The Russian United Nations Military Observer Course foundation dates back to 1974 after the first group of the Soviet officers had arrived to the Middle East on their first peace-keeping mission as military observers.

 Since US Army officers underwent training at the Russian UNMO Course. The Course staff is still waiting for more to come and assist in creation of multinational environment for future peacekeepers.  The Centre keeps beaconing in all wishing to learn more about UN peacekeeping techniques.

 Since British Navy, Army and Air Force officers underwent training in the Russian UNMO Course. The Course staff is still waiting for more to come and assist in creation of multinational environment for future peacekeepers.

 RUSUNMOC training occasions are arranged three times a year  Teachers/instructors strive to foster a good atmosphere and motivation among the students  They prepare and conduct lessons (theoretical and practical)  The UNMO Course language is English

COURSE AIM The aim of this course is to:  prepare officers for deployment as Military Observers (UNMO) as well as Staff Officers on a Peace Support operation (PSO) reaching proficiency on different subjects recommended by UN DPKO Training Unit (UN structure, operation, main components, evolution, operational techniques, UNMOs duties …)  get trainees ready to operate in hostile environment of PSOs refreshing their basic military skills on mine awareness, driving, tactical training, reconnaissance …  provide with field exercises on observation, inspection, negotiation, patrolling and other operational techniques  ice-break barriers of national differences with parties, country presentations and other social activities(!!!)

COURSE PROGRAMME All lecture presentations are intended to be interactive.
