Feedback from training Use of standardised tests to help select the children Analysis of the data moved staff to consider earlier intervention Teacher judgement of children Reporting back to the other staff & getting feedback Children feel valued, more confident, supported Opportunities for peer mentoring Schools having planned together Flexibility of moving children in & out of the target group OFMDFM Signature Project

Feedback from Central Pool Training Very practical ideas for teaching. More clear about my role in school. Trainers were excellent. The literacy & Numeracy workshops give excellent practical useable advice. Really enjoyed the data section. Johnny from BELB was fantastic! Was very good to go through lines of progression and explore the different strands. OFMDFM Signature Project

Feedback from Central Pool Training Be more confident in supporting pupils in their literacy and numeracy with the resources and strategies provided today, and I will be more aware of my questioning techniques as a method of assessment in the classroom. I have gained good resources for literacy & numeracy to enhance children's learning. I am now more confident with assessment monitoring children's levels. OFMDFM Signature Project

Feedback from Seconded Training Very useful because it gave us a chance to talk about what we were doing with the Signature Project. Shared good practice. Mentioned resources that we were using and found useful. Relief. We weren't sure if we were doing things correctly. A very helpful day which clarified the role and informed very effectively - particularly in relation to monitoring and evaluation. OFMDFM Signature Project

Feedback from Seconded Training Monitoring. Use diff. strategies in small groups exam focus. Seek meeting W/SMT and HOD to have timetable issues sorted. Go back to list of students, review those selected and action plan. I was very impressed by today's course. It was extremely useful and relevant. Both speakers were excellent. I feel a lot better about where we are as a college. Great to have made contacts within the Board and other schools. Motivational and inspirational. Spend more time on my monitoring and evaluation. Make plans for next year re-timetable implications. OFMDFM Signature Project

Case Studies Seconded Teacher Careful identification of students using data and speaking to other relevant staff Clear identification of areas for development Permanent withdrawal and rotational support Parents Positive attitude staff & students Constant monitoring and adapting to needs Connect to relevant areas in school / ALC OFMDFM Signature Project

Case Study Observe the class / use of data / behaviour / teacher discussions Cooperative learning and paired practical learning Mental Maths Log / Process investigations Relate to real life Involving parents Observation / Marking / Active strategies Weekly meetings with staff Termly monitoring OFMDFM Signature Project

Monitoring and Evaluation (DE) Details of pupils identified, assessed and supported by the programme Details of the CPD provided to both the recent graduate teacher and the experienced teacher released. Types of intervention provided to pupils. How the programme has supported the school as a whole – best practice developed etc. OFMDFM Signature Project

Monitoring and Evaluation (DE) The effectiveness of the process used to identify and assess pupils in need of extra support. The effectiveness of the additional support provided in improving a pupil’s educational attainment. The extent to which any effects were sustained in the mainstream classroom. The impact of the programme in raising standards in numeracy and literacy in the school as a whole. OFMDFM Signature Project

Monitoring and Evaluation (DE) In relation to the OFMdFM programme and the DE expansion programme, ETI will evaluate the post primary schools regardless of whether the posts are funded by DE or OFMdFM as many posts are jointly funded. In relation to primary schools, some comparison will be undertaken of the effectiveness of the programme delivery by OFMdFM and DE funded schools as they were selected using different criteria. ETI will undertake to undertake a full evaluation of a sample of schools ensuring a representative sample of schools by sector, size and management type. During a standard inspection, ETI will look at the delivery of the programme as part of the inspection process. OFMDFM Signature Project

Monitoring and Evaluation (OFMDFM) The impact of the Signature Programme on the aims of the Delivering Social Change Programme. The use of OFMdFM common metrics in the evaluation of the Signature Programmes will be incorporated where appropriate into the evaluation. Anonymous questionnaire - General Self Efficacy; Locus of Control; Well Being 2014 – 2015 Year 7 and Year 12 Delivered through the use of Fronter on C2k OFMDFM Signature Project
