Everything Belongs to God The earth is the Lord’s & everything in it We belong to him Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights

Giving to God = Giving Back to God Some of What He Owns It is a stewardship issue: We have been entrusted with the earth and everything in it, including ourselves and every good and perfect gift. When God asks us to give to him, he is only asking for what he already owns That can be applied to… Money Time Talents & Skills Energy

Why Does God Want Us to Give to Him? God wants us to be part of His plan His plan: The reconciliation of all things to himself Beginning with the redemption of souls When we give to God (money, skills, energy, time, etc.) we help God in this endeavor

How Does God Want It? Example: Money…God made it clear in the Old Testament that God’s people were to set aside 1/10 th of their “crops,” which was to be brought to the temple so ministry could continue in God’s house. The purpose of the “tithe” was to build up the community of faith by providing Food for those who minister Food for those in need A medium for building relationships with them all
