“The Free Gift of God is Eternal Life” Romans 6:15-23

I. Contemplate our condition before Christ. We were slaves to sin. We were slaves to sin. –We are slaves to whatever we give obedience to (16). –We are weak in our natural selves, in slavery to impurity (19). We were on the path to death. We were on the path to death. –Being slaves to sin leads to death (16). –For the wages of sin is death (23).

II. Consider our position because of Christ. We have been set free from sin. We have been set free from sin. –Being freed from sin does not give us a license to sin (15). –We offer the parts of our body in slavery to righteousness (19). We are now slaves to God. We are now slaves to God. –We are slaves to obedience (16). –We receive the gift of God (23).

III. Commit to our relationship with Christ. We are maturing in holiness. We are maturing in holiness. –The benefit we reap leads to holiness (22). –The result is eternal life (22). We have eternal life. We have eternal life. –The end of our journey is heaven. –Until then, we have the quality of a life of holiness. Guilt-free Guilt-free Consequence-free Consequence-free
