LIMITS The department of Casanare bordered to the north Casanare River, which separates it from the department of Arauca. To the south and east by the Meta River, which separates it from the departments of Meta and Vichada. And on the west by the departments of Boyacá and Cundinamarca.

CLIMATE The temperature varies from 22 to 27 ° C. The climate changes from humid in the foothills area, to cold in the Andes (18-20 ° C) through a tropical savannah area (about 27 ° C, rainy in winter, dry in summer).

Across the plains region and particularly in Casanare singing, music, dances, indigenous myths and legends, are the cultural manifestation of the population, the joropo is your music and coleus their traditional festival, which is held together with activities such as rodeo, bullfighting and cocks between the months of August to December.

FLORA AND FAUNA Region of beautiful scenery, a variety of wildlife and land rich in black gold and gas. Oil development in the municipalities of Aguazul and Tauramena and the Cusiana and Cupiagua, has been very important in recent years as well as agriculture, mainly rice crops, banana, cassava, sugarcane, fruit trees and cotton.
