The Early Colony of Quebec By: Julia, Amanda and Ani

Where was the colony located? Quebec was located in Northeast Canada.

Who founded Quebec? The French founded Quebec as an early colony.

Was Quebec successful? Yes, Quebec was successful. But they did have many struggles like the harsh climate and the rough terrain, which didn’t attract many people to come to the New World.

What was the relationship between the Colonists and Indians? Champlain, the leader of Quebec was very mean to the Indians.They went to war against each other. Champlain killed two of the Iroquois Indian chiefs.

Who was the leader of Quebec? Samuel de Champlain was the leader of Quebec. He was born in 1567 in Brouage, Saintonge.

Interesting Facts 1)After the American Revolution, lots of British Loyalists came to settle in Quebec 2) By the Constitutional Act of 1791, the British separated Quebec into lower and upper Canada.
