Badajoz, 20 November 2014 Ana Bajlo, MBiotech Head of Section for Energy Efficiency

 In accordance with the Plan City of Zadar formalized its policy of sustainable development and sustainable energy management by signing Energy Charter on national level and Covenant of Mayors on European level

 Signed in 2008  Declarative act of local and regional governments in the Republic of Croatia which shows awareness and political commitment to manage energy at the local level, protect the environment and the rational management of resources for the benefit of the local community and all its citizens

 Signed on 28 May 2012  European movement involving local and regional authorities, voluntarily committing to increasing energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources on their territories  Signatories aim to meet and exceed the European Union 20% CO 2 reduction objective by 2020

Association of Energy Cities Member from March 2014 European Association of local authorities in energy transition Represents more than 1,000 towns and cities in 30 countries Energy Cities is a credible and trusted advocate of local authorities in the fields of energy efficiency, renewables, climate mitigation, regional policies and financing Energy Cities is dedicated to: Strengthen the role and skills of local authorities Represent cities’ interests and influence national and EU policies Develop and promote our members’ initiatives

 The long-term planning document that among others contains measures for increasing energy efficiency which will be implemeneted until 2020 to achieve the Covenant of Mayors objectives (reduction of CO 2 emissions by at least 20% by 2020 at the administrative area of the City of Zadar)  Adopted by the City Council of the City of Zadar on 13 March 2014  It is composed of two parts - Baseline Emission Inventory (BEI) and the Sustainable Energy Action Plan Measures in reducing CO 2 emissions are divided into three sectors:  Building sector  Sector of Public lighting  Traffic sector Grad Zadar Akcijski plan energetski održivog razvitka SEAP Prosinac 2013.

SectortCO 2 % Building % Public lighting % Traffic % Total %  Baseline Emission Inventory (BEI): Quantifies the amount of CO 2 emitted due to energy consumption in the territory of the Covenant signatory in the baseline year  BEI is divided into two parts – the analysis of energy consumption and analysis of CO 2 emissions as a result of energy consumption  2010 was set as the baseline The total amount of CO 2 emissions in the administrative area of the City of Zadar

 The building sector emits the most CO 2 followed by the traffic sector  The public lighting sector emits the least CO 2

 City of Zadar will implement the following measures to reduce CO 2 emissions on its area:
