Presentation Guidelines

DO’S and DON’Ts for a videoconference presentation.

Don’t Don’t read screens, use them to drive discussions. Don’t include too much information on each slide. Don’t use multiple backgrounds in the same presentation. Presentation Guidelines

Don’t Don’t use busy backgrounds. Don’t misuse colour. Don’t use small fonts or elaborate font styles. Don’t insert large chunks of text or quotations. Presentation Guidelines

Don’t Don’t use illegible flow diagrams or charts. Presentation Guidelines

Do Do allow white space for easy reading in diagrams and flow charts. Do highlight important key words. Do use large sized font for text (Arial >32pt is recommended). Presentation Guidelines

Do Do keep in mind that big bold bar charts help illustrate a point more than simple text. Presentation Guidelines

Do Use only 3 or 4 key points for each slide. Use these points to expand for further discussion. Do insert appropriate diagrams/ photographs/ images to illustrate main points. Presentation Guidelines

Do Do try to use light text (white or pastel) on dark background (blue is recommended). Do plan the time appropriately during the presentation. Presentation Guidelines

Presentation guidelines Remember that quality is more important than quantity in a slide presentation over a videoconference!
