INTERNATIONAL CO- OPRATION EFDA became an associate member in WFC in 2004 and full member in Plan to cooperate with the African Development BankAfDB, Private Sector to implement a new financial scheme especially tailored for franchising. EFDA to sign MOU with FASA, FASA to build the capacity of EFDA Coordinate with all stakeholders (donors) to develop franchising in Egypt. Pan-African Franchise Federation.

Historical background Franchising is known in Egypt long ago through multinationals in different sectors such as : soft drinks, petrol stations etc.. Since the 70s franchise in food sector is actively growing. Since the 90s non-food sectors started to develop.

Capacity and Potential for Franchise Expansion in Egypt Franchise has increased by 800% over last 8 years ( from approximately 25 to 200 franchise systems). March 2003, Egypt is listed in USA cooperating countries in Intellectual Property Rights. New Tax law, IP law, WTO, e-gov., e- signature. Democracy, free elected President.
