Workshops-Spring 2008 A Science & English Partnership: Building Common Ground for Collaboration in Dens

Session 1: English 1/ICS In order to strengthen the potential to meaningfully infuse the environmental curriculum, teachers in the 9 th grade who have common preps can be given a window into some options. With options, then they can decide to take it where they choose. There are many avenues to explore.

Goals for Workshop #1 Show English faculty potential options for environmental curricular options within the regular English 1 units of study To familiarize Science faculty with these but to enable them to see where THEIR curriculum can also be meaningfully infused, facilitating the English/Science 9 th grade partnerships All units presented have a PBL/portfolio element
