SET Launch Parties Materials to be covered –SET Project codes, –checklist for choosing SET activities –delivering with SET agenda in mind Group discussion – low input, high output successes to introduce new youth to SET Follow up with counties – how often, what

SET is one of the three programmatic “mission mandates” from National 4-H Headquarters. Mission mandates include: Science, Engineering and Technology Healthy Lifestyles Citizenship (Youth Community Action)

National 4-H SET Goal Nationally 4-H is aiming to prepare 1 million new youth in the next five years to excel in science and technology by exposing those youth to 6 or more hours each of 4-H science activities.

NYS 4-H SET Goal Reaching 100 new youth per county per year with 6 hours or more of inquiry based science activities.

6 Current NY SET Enrollment C - Consumer/Family Science – 7,048 D - Natural Resources/Environ – 18,749 E - Healthy Lifestyles -23,580 G - Plants and Animals – 46,309 H - Science and Technology – 31,813
