Introduction What is soil like? Why we trying to find out what soil is because, if the soil is bad the trees can’t grow. Soil is a mixture of weathered rock and mineral fragments decayed organic matter, water, and air that can take thousands of years to develop. Soil can take thousands of years to form and rages from 60 m thick in some areas to just a few centimeters thick in others.
