Skills for Life Improvement Programme  To equip you to co-ordinate and, where appropriate, deliver the CPD for providers in your peer working group(s). Aim

Skills for Life Improvement Programme By the end of today you will:  understand how the core CPD programme modules fit together  have begun to familiarise yourself with the content of the core modules  have explored how to get maximum impact from the CPD offer for your providers  know what’s expected of you in terms of managing your providers’ CPD and how you’ll be supported by your managing partner. Objectives

Skills for Life Improvement Programme Understanding the revised CPD offer and how the core modules fit together Revised CPD offer reflects:  our accumulated experience  the current programme focus i.e. embedding LLN through a whole organisation approach  the changing landscape. The CPD pathway diagram enables CPD to be better targeted:  to suit the provider’s current stage of development  to meet specific needs  to reach specific target audiences.

Skills for Life Improvement Programme Workshop 1 10:25 – 11:10  Looking at the awareness-raising modules: 1a, 1b and 1c.  Looking at module 3: Working together to embed LLN.  Looking at specialist CPD.

Skills for Life Improvement Programme Practicalities 1  What’s expected of me in terms of managing my providers’ CPD?  How can I make sure my providers get maximum impact from the CPD on offer?

Skills for Life Improvement Programme Practicalities 2 How will I be supported by my managing partner?  Training materials in hard copy.  PP presentations on memory stick.  Word versions on SfLIP DA web page.  Module summaries to share with providers.  Resources box containing: o 5 laminated sets of each card activity for all 12 core modules o stationery as outlined in the resources section of the trainer packs.  Support from an administrator who will: o liaise with the host to confirm CPD arrangements

Skills for Life Improvement Programme Practicalities 3 o arrange specialist CPD sessions, including sourcing trainers o provide participants with session and venue details where names and contact details have been provided on the CPD/PWG planner o courier resources to the venue as outlined in the trainer pack, including booking and evaluation forms and attendance register with a Freepost envelope for their return, to arrive at least 24 hours before a training session o reimburse host provider’s costs on receipt of an invoice (£10 per planned participant) o process booking and evaluation forms, providing certificates to those listed on the attendance register.
