2038: Great Condo Crash. 'Zoners', characterized by chromosome damage, originate at this time; they are also known as 'Thirty-Eighters'. Myths hold them capable of shape-shifting.

2040's: Mauism 'rediscovered' and implemented - "Neo-Mauism". (Banner: GIVE UP CONTROL TO GAIN ORDER, gigantic Bruce Mau portrait) ("The theory and practice of Bruce Mau Thought ("Mauism"/"Neo-Mauism" including theories of hyperdevelopment ("Massive Change"), devolution of political power, and aggressive investment in advanced research, is directly responsible for the Spit as it exists in the 2100's.")

: Height of Neo-Mauism. Devolution of government powers combined with hyperdevelopment will eventually lead to an independent Toronto.

2049: Rochester Chunnel completed. Sewage pumped across Lake Ontario for disposal. CHUD-like tribes of Zoners begin to inhabit tunnel system.

2051: Mau's Self-Healing Plastic gradually becomes self-aware, begins to learn at an exponential rate.

2058: Soccer Stadium promoted by OMB, problems continue with violence- plagued Toronto FC. (Tabletop architectural model under 2058 plans)

2061: Toronto as city-state directly under Federal jurisdiction; the inevitable evolution of the Megacity. ("What does City-Statehood Mean to You?", brochure wi. new logo of city hall wi/in an atrium of a very large new city hall.)

2117: Lake Ontario drained under NAWPA agreements. Region becomes a dust bowl surrounding a pond of liquid mercury, with a Koppen-Spengler Climate Classification of 'Arid-Venusian-Tropical'. Frequent gamma bursts inhibit unprotected outside movement.
