Case Study A father learned that he did not receive the salary increase he’d been hoping for. When he came home, he began to shout at his daughter, who was watching TV, telling her to turn it off and study. She told him that he wasn’t being fair, and that she didn’t watch very often. When the mother said that it was time to eat, the daughter angrily went to her room, and the parents ate alone in silence. What was the father feeling? What was his daughter feeling? What caused his emotions? What caused her emotions? What could he have done differently? How could she have responded differently?
