Presentation transcript:

Women tend to articulate the process of their thinking and decision making. Women usually talk about their internal analysis as they go along. Men go through the same processes, but internally rather than externally. Men usually wait until they have the answer and then announce it.

Because men often mistake women's deliberations as the 'final answer',. This is why men often accuse women of 'changing their mind', While women think the man is not even considering the issue While women accuse men of 'not caring'..

If you know you have a particular subject to discuss, put time aside to work your way through it. Give yourself at least an hour and possibly longer so that there is time for the man to think things through and for the woman to talk about her responses. If you need space to think, rather than talk, tell your partner. Say 'I am just thinking about what you have said'. If there are long silences your partner may think you are bored or disinterested.

Make sure you check out if your partner's remarks are her final answer, or just a facet of her decision making. Jumping to agree (or disagree) with the first thing she says can lead to great confusion because she knows it's probably not her ultimate choice. Allow some time for any decision to settle in. This buys you space to decide if what you have come up with really hits the spot for both of you. Listen to each other with respect. If you jump to conclusions, or cut across your partner, they will naturally assume you don't care about their feelings. This can lead to a cynicism that invades and destroys relationships. by Julia ColeJulia Cole

Men and women speak different languages. Their brains develop differently and at different rates. We respond to boys and girls differently. Our expectations of them are different. Behavior that we tolerate from one sex may be less acceptable from the other sex. For example, boys yell, girls cry.

These differences can create conflict between the sexes socially, professionally, and intimately. They talk about people rather than things. They convey feelings and details. They are relationship oriented. They are quicker to ask for and accept help or directions. Women cooperate. Generally speaking, in our society boys and men are seen as aggressive, independent, and objective. Girls and women are seen as submissive, dependent, and subjective.

Men They talk about things - business, sports, and food They are goal-oriented. They focus on solving problems and are less likely to ask for help or directions. Men compete. Women They talk about people rather than things. They convey feelings and details. They are relationship oriented. They are quicker to ask for and accept help or directions. Women cooperate.
