I Can Share Appropriate for Preschoolers Story by Rachel Anderson Edited by Rochelle Lentini July 2010 Created using pictures from Microsoft Clipart® and Google Image Search
When I share I am a good friend. I have lots of friends at school. We play and do many fun things together. I am learning to share. I share when I let someone else use a toy. Sharing is also when we use the toy together. When I share I am a good friend.
Sometimes it is hard to share. I might forget to use my words and ask for the toy. I might cry, scream, grab, hurt someone or walk away and give up. Mad Sad
Using my words to share toys or items works much better. When I cry, scream, grab, hurt someone, or walk away my friends don’t know that I want to share. Using my words to share toys or items works much better.
If I want something I can say, “Can I play with you” or “Can I use that please?”
Sometimes our friends might say “no” and that is okay Sometimes our friends might say “no” and that is okay. Not everyone wants to share. I can first go ask a teacher for help. Then, we can think, think, think of a solution together. Can you please help me?
There are many different ways that I can share. I can share toys and games.
I can share art materials like paint, scissors, crayons and glue.
And I can share balls and trikes. I can share books and puzzles. And I can share balls and trikes.
I can share!
