August 15, 2006Vladlen Timciuc, Caltech CMS Group3 Software framework CMSSW –CMSSW Tutorial e/ CMSSWTutorial.ppthttp://caltechcms.wikispaces.com/space/showimag e/ CMSSWTutorial.ppt –CMS Software Page ral/ ral/ –In WebCVS subsection one can find complete overview of software classes.

August 15, 2006Vladlen Timciuc, Caltech CMS Group4 Software framework ECALTBH4_0_1_0 – is the official CMSSW release for H4 TB. –Description of release as well how to install it can be found here: –Some ECALTBH4_0_1_0 tips: –

August 15, 2006Vladlen Timciuc, Caltech CMS Group5 Wikipage I created a small wikipage for ECAL H4 TB – –By far it contains the information mentioned in previous slides. –I plan to make an eLog on this page.

August 15, 2006Vladlen Timciuc, Caltech CMS Group6 Analysis and Preliminary Results I am working with simulated data. –Data simulated by Patrick Jarry for crystal # –Energies: 10, 20, 30, 50, 80, 120, 150, 180, 250 GeV. –Data contains 10k events per energy. –Hodoscope ±3 mm. (x-y). –Files can be found from your lxplus account at: castor:/castor/cern.ch/user/j/jarry/Simulation_1104/

August 15, 2006Vladlen Timciuc, Caltech CMS Group7 Analysis and Preliminary Results Reconstruction is done in ECALTBH4_0_1_0 –Weight method is used for reconstruction of the amplitude of the signal. Analysis: –Look for the crystal with the highest energy deposit. –Fit energy distribution for 5x5 crystals around that crystal. Double fit with Gauss, first to get approximate sigma and mean, second fit within range +2sigma -1sigma from previous fit mean. –Get energy resolution Sigma/Mean. –Do it for all listed energies.

August 15, 2006Vladlen Timciuc, Caltech CMS Group15 To Do List Check the gain switch for reconstruction algorithm. Receive resolution curve and fit it. Perform the same for 3x3 and 1x1. Try to apply different energy resolution fit procedure. Try to reconstruct and analyze TB Data for SM22. Perform again resolution task with simulated data for another crystal with different hodoscope cuts.
