Social Media for Service Delivery In-Confidence Social Media for Service Delivery MyGov could be Facebook or LinkedIn for government. The mock-up slides are designed to show how the social media interface concept could be used for government services. The mock-up is not necessarily accurate in its portrayal of government services or citizen interests. Some of the concepts presented and the language used would need refinement if such an approach was seriously considered. Original material in these concept slides copyright Commonwealth of Australia. Non-original material for concept only, implementation may require permission.

MyGov Architecture MyGov Interface MyGov Platform Citizens access services Through MyGov interface. MyGov Interface MyGov Platform This slide show how the future could look if all agencies conformed to a single service oriented architecture for government. This representation supports the same level of functionality and connectivity shown in any of the previous slides. It also provide much more flexibility for service delivery, including consistency and access to all services from any point. It permits a more diverse range of channel options and will be generally more flexible and efficient. The ICT asset base will have a smaller overall footprint but much greater capability. These slides have not addressed other infrastructure requirements such as processing platforms, communications or storage, but all of these will show similar trends, though probably not to the same extent. Processing power, communications bandwidth and storage demand will increase, but there will opportunities to share peaks and troughs to reduce the overall impact. Agencies publish services to MyGov. Architecture is agile enough to enable new services to be easily “plugged in”. Actual services and transactions remain in agency systems. Services Agencies
